Treat Naming

Treat Naming

Ever wonder where our product names came from?  Well here’s your answer! A brief history on naming our treats…

Eldora Energy Cookie
Inspiration: Eldora Mountain
Fun Facts:
Located in the southwest corner of Boulder County, Colorado, near the community of Eldora and 3 miles West of the town of Nederland. At 10,600 feet in elevation, it’s one of the few Colorado ski resorts on the east side of the continental divide
TDT Connection: After many years of participating in the “Screamin’ Snowman” snow shoe race on Eldora Mountain, I took the opportunity to introduce my treats to fellow racers when first starting my biz. I passed out free samples to all the dog owners, got great feedback and lots of support from the community.

Red Rocks Park
Fun Facts:
A mountain park in Jefferson County, Colorado, owned and maintained by the city of Denver as part of the Denver Mountain Parks system. The park is known for its very large red sandstone outcrops. Many of these rock formations
have names, from the mushroom-shaped Seat of Pluto to the inclined Cave of the Seven Ladders. The most visited rocks are around the world famous venue, Red Rocks Amphitheater; Creation Rock to the North; Ship Rock to the South; Stage Rock to the East.
TDT Connection:  Together, Tatum & I have hiked & run most every trail in and around Red Rocks. Wonderful memories of me and my training partner taking in the views, trekking through the rocks, and sharing snacks.

Rocky Mountain Crunch Ball
Rocky Mountain National Park
Fun Facts:
Located in the North-Central region of Colorado, the park features majestic mountain views, mountain lakes, a variety of wildlife, varied climates and environments—from wooded forests to mountain tundra—and easy access to back-country trails and campsites. The park is located northwest of Boulder, Colorado, in the Rockies, and includes the Continental Divide and the headwaters of the Colorado River
TDT Connection:  One of my favorite memories hiking in the Rocky Mountains was 15528565-scenic-landscape-near-aspen-coloradoin the early 90’s, just after moving to Colorado. My mom came to visit for a long weekend from the East Coast, we loaded up the car for a trip to Rocky Mountain National Park with my old Black Lab, Boris (bless his soul). We came across Mirror Lake in the Northern Gore Range, sat together with Boris & watched the Aspen leaves fall into the sun glisten lake. Very peaceful place & lovely memory.

Sunshine Peak Treat
Sunshine Peak “14er”
A426947_10150954173137981_2060453973_n fourteen thousand foot mountain peak in the San Juan Mountains, Hinsdale County, Colorado. It rises on the north side of the Lake Fork of the Gunnison River
TDT Connection:  Although Tatum and I have climbed 14ers together in the past, she’s now past her prime to take on such an extreme expedition, so this hike is on my bucket list. The San Juan Mountains have a special place in my heart, and one of my favorite things about CO is the 300 days of Sunshine.
